Here it is, the answer to the question nobody asked: Why hasn't somebody made a fanmix for the Tom Cruise/Simon Pegg pairing? Well, wonder no more!

It is called Hockey Night in Canada and Everything After. Because it is based on the fic series I'm currently writing with the same title. Because Simon and Tom went on a hockey date in Vancouver that one time. And because I stole the last part of the title from a Counting Crows album.

I've included some songs from bands that Simon likes. As for Tom, I included a couple of songs that I feel represent him mainly because of Rock of Ages, not because of his actual musical taste. It's kind of impossible to find info about what music that guy listens to. Google has been completely unhelpful, so I stuck with a couple of 90's power ballads a la RoA to represent Tom. For Simon, we have Death Cab, Elbow, and Lemon Jelly. Everything else is pure me.

I may have gone overboard on posting song lyrics here. Some songs had so many good lyrics that I couldn't choose. Also, I ramble a bit in some spots while explaining song significance. Each song title is linked to an uploaded copy that you can preview and/or download individually, so you can pick and choose which songs you want. The link to the zip file containing all songs, plus cover art, is at the bottom. There's also a link to the folder containing the individual songs and the cover art down there. If anything is linked incorrectly, please let me know!

Now that that's out of your system, listen to this: One of the finalists is a transwoman named Avery. She has no health care options that cover transgender issues where she lives and has to pay out of pocket, so winning this contest would help her out tremendously. I know who my team is for the Ship Olympics! :D Teams will be announced on Tuesday, but being a captain from last year, I have access to almost everything the admirals are doing, so I had a peek at the Google Doc with the teams on it. I know exactly who I've got and what the actual team will be. I've started making graphics and things - header, userinfo banner and default icon for my team comm, and team icons - and I have to say I really, really like them. Thank you to the people who actually made the Starfleet/Olympics logo thing and the textures and whatnot, 'cause I was so lost without that stuff. ♥ Now the graphics are peeerrrrrrtyyyy.

HEY FRINGIES: SEX!!!!

Now that I have your attention, how many of you would be interested in a Fringe kink meme? I haven't read much Fringe fic lately, but last time I checked, this fandom was pretty kink-proof, and while I'm not exactly helping with my complete lack of Fringe plot bunnies, the fact is I find the lack of kink in this fandom really sad. Apparently there is, or was, a Fringe kink meme comm someplace that has since died? I wish I could say I was shocked.

Anyway, nuzzledhisface has started something along those lines here. I suggested making an actual comm for it, but if interest is just gonna dwindle again anyway, maybe not? I dunno. It'd probably be easier to find if it was its own comm. Well, it's there if you wanna play or pimp it out, but I'd love to hear more opinions about the entire subject. Do we need another comm? Would people participate? Even the most active kink memes have way more prompts than actual fills, so if this fandom is low on kinky fic as it is, maybe a comm would be overkill, I don't know. Come on, let's discuss! This entry is public, so please send your Fringie friends over here to give their opinions. Or, hell, point me in the direction of wherever this has been discussed already, 'cause I wanna see!

Last week, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar from The Big Bang Theory were at eTalk here in T.O. No, I didn't go, but I've watched it on TV at least three times already (they keep re-airing it). They're all so pretty in their weird, quirky ways. Also, BNL performed! It was awesome. I'm so very proud of my boys. ♥ Here's a link to the online vid. I hope it works outside Canada.

Interestingly enough, while the four remaining Ladies were being awesome with the BBT boys at eTalk, former Ladie, Steven, was having SRS BSNS DISCUSSIONS about you-know-what over at W5. Here's a link (again, hoping that works outside of here). The eTalk thing aired on Friday, I think, while Steve's interview aired just a couple days later on Sunday. Rather sad to see the obvious difference in tone between the two shows, the Ladies having all kinds of fun, and Steve just kinda ... there. *sighsighsigh*

ARGH, Steve, I love you, but I wanna kick you so hard right now. This was not supposed to happen.

So, I'm sitting here with my Big Bang rough draft .doc open, about to send it off to the mods with a shiny header stating all of the relevant info. Unfortunately, I still do not have a title and the only one I can think of, I kind of hate. I really want to give this thing a good title before submitting it, because ... well, I just do. I've only got half a day left to figure this out. It's not going well. HALP.

Finished watching Firefly. Started watching Weeds, which was not on my list of shows to watch, but oh well. I like it. It's a welcome change after watching the first season and what's available of the second season of Jersey Shore and then watching a season 12 Big Brother marathon (23 episodes in, like, 2 days, and the season isn't even over yet. Jeebus, how many episodes does this show get each season?). Yeah. My brain was crying out for something halfway intelligent.

In other news, I sent the unfinished rough draft of my startrekbigbang to my beta. It's a good thing stbbsupport reminded us all that we should do this, 'cause otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. I have a thing about letting people see my work before it's at least got an ending, and right now my STBB does not have an ending. I mean, it sort of does; I can vaguely see an ending in my head, but the story's only maybe 65% written. I'm slightly stressed, but I'm okay. I have good ideas. I just need some good execution. And possibly someone else's brain to be able to pull it all off. *headdesk*

Lol, I don't even have a desk. XD

So yeah, if I hadn't been reminded that I actually have a beta, I would've just kept on writing furiously to get it done before the rough draft deadline without ever asking for outside opinions or help. Because that's the kind of crazy that I am. But I'm really looking forward to getting another opinion, so fingers crossed that I'm on the right track with this thing.

I'm seriously frakking tired. Did not sleep last night. Spent all day today proofreading my rough draft (proofreading my rough draft) before sending it to Beta. That's 99 pages and 40k I read today on no sleep. Urgh. Kill me.

Right. So, I made a little mini picspam of Walter and Astrid/John and Jasika for scifiland. And I would just like to say that this was the most frustrating thing I have ever done. I have listened to 3 and a half hour-long podcasts while trying to get this thing to look right. I tried to get all artistic with it, you see. I should not have done that.

And why the hell am I still awake?

There are more pics of Jasika alone than of John alone. Simply because, while John Noble is kick-ass and a damn handsome gentleman, Jasika has a way of looking a bit like candy.

Day 09- Five things you want to see change: About me? Um ... everything? Basically, I'd like to find some kind of solid direction for my life. I'm sort of meandering at the moment. I'd like to be better at socializing, but I think that's pretty much a pipe dream. I guess I'd like to be healthier. I think if I felt like I had some kind of purpose in my life, something real that was getting me up in the morning, I'd be more inclined to think that exercise and healthy eating was worth it. I'd like to be a nicer person, a less selfish person, a more mature person. But I suppose stuff like that comes with the little choices we make everyday. You have to make the choice to be a certain way and then keep doing it.

Ugh, that is depressing.

Okay, so I made some Fringe colour bars. Nothing fancy. Please let me know if the codes are wonky or something. Alter as you see fit; you can even take the credit link out if you want, 'cause it's not that big a deal.

I probably won't be posting the answers to this meme every single day, simply because ... I don't want to. It'll probably be a couple of days at least between some answers. We'll see how it goes.

Day 01- Guilty pleasure: Naughty, dirty daddy!kink/ageplay porn. Like, the kind that makes you question the emotional health of the author, the kind that I have a very hard time writing properly unless I'm hiding behind anonymity *cough* (yes, even I get ashamed about writing certain things). The bigger the age difference between the participants, the better. In fact, daddy!kink doesn't work as well for me when the participants are too close in age. And if the participants are actually father and son, well ... dayam. And yes, I do enjoy it when the son is terribly, terribly young. In fact, I've written fic in which the sons were terribly, terribly young, at the urging of a friend of mine, who is a dirtybadwrong influence on me. If not for her, I would've been too afraid to write it. She's on a bit of a hiatus at the moment I think, though, so she probably won't even see this.

I also love it when the son acts terribly, terribly young when he's not. UNF. I love thumb sucking. I love deliberately making his voice sound childlike. And I have a relative size kink; I love it when one partner has a much smaller frame than the other. UNF UNF UNF.

So ... yes.

You know what? I'm skipping Unearthed. It was an episode from the first season that they didn't air until the second. And ... it's ... well ... perhaps it should have stayed in the vault, 'cause it's nothing special. So, I'm skipping it and going straight from Grey Matters to Johari Window, both pretty good eps. As for the numbering, I'm going to say that Johari Window is number 11, not 12 ... because it is. Unearthed was a first-season ep, so it doesn't get a second-season number.

But try to tell that to the interwebz. I think everybody's still confused as hell about it.

Anyway, not many theories to discuss with these episodes, despite how good they are. So, these are mostly just recaps.
